UPCOMING EVENTS & ACTIONS

Urgent Support Needed for Gazan Evacuees

The Rafah border crossing is rumored to close any day now. Please support the work of a Cairo-based mutual aid network by taking on the labor of crowdfunding. The network —led by Palestinians raised in exile, @linashahid and @deestracted—urgently needs help securing funds for vetted campaigns. You can donate and boost campaigns found on Dee’s LinkTree, as well as campaigns on Lilli's LinkTree. Please email lilli.sher26@gmail.com to get plugged into campaigns for folks they're directly in contact with. We need as many people as possible reaching out to all of their networks to save as many people as possible. Thank you so much for your time and support. 

Chicago Palestine Film Festival

4/20-5/4 at the Gene Siskel Film Center. The Chicago Palestine Film Festival is an annual cultural event that serves as a vibrant platform for showcasing the rich and diverse narratives of Palestinian cinema. The festival provides a unique space for filmmakers, artists, and audience members to engage with compelling stories that explore the multifaceted aspects of Palestinian life. Through a carefully curated selection of feature films, documentaries, and shorts, the festival seeks to foster a deeper understanding of the Palestinian experience. More info here.

Passover Seder with Tzedek Chicago and the Chicago chapter of Shoresh

4/28 at 5pm at the Levy Senior Center (300 Dodge Ave., Evanston). Tzedek Chicago will gather for the annual Passover Seder led by Rabbi Brant and cantorial soloists, Leah Shoshanah and Adam Gottlieb. JVP Chicago New Member Orientation

5/2 @ 7pm on Zoom. An introduction to JVP-National and JVP-Chicago: what we're about, our history, our values, our vision for the future, and how we organize. Please come if you are new to JVP and haven't yet had a chance to attend one of these sessions.  There will be plenty of time to ask questions and opportunities to figure out how to plug in to JVP activity and work. May Chapter Meeting

5/5 @ 12-2pm CST at Haymarket House (800 W. Buena Ave) and on Zoom. As always, there will be light refreshments. Feel free to bring something to share, although not at all necessary! Please RSVP here for the meeting, regardless of whether you will be attending in-person or virtually.

3rd Annual Palestine Flag Raising Ceremony with AMP Chicago

5/11 @ 2-6pm at the Daley Center. Join AMP Chicago for the 3rd annual Palestinian flag raising, followed by a march to protest the ongoing Nakba and and genocide in Gaza. More information here.
