Lobby Days in Springfield
JVP Chicago is sending members to Springfield each month to lobby our senators and representatives to overturn a state-level anti-BDS law. We have a lot of momentum on this right now and are hoping to drive high turnout in February. We will go to Springfield Wednesday 2/26 and Thursday 2/27. If you are considering doing this at all, please consider doing it in February! You will have a lot of impact this month.
To attend, please:
RSVP to Janet (jsettle856@sbcglobal.net) or Rebekah (rebekahlevin@outlook.com) ASAP
Attend Zoom training on Monday 2/10, 7:00pm (link will be sent following RSVP)
RSVP: March 2nd Care & Support Workshop!
RSVP LINK: https://bit.ly/CareSupportWorkshop
We are looking to grow the JVP Chicago’s Care & Support Committee in order to better accomplish our goals and purpose (which you can read here!). To begin this, we’re envisioning holding a workshop that can help us build community, think through committee logistics, and dream of the future together.
The retreat will be held on March 2nd from 2:30-5:30pm, directly after the chapter meeting already scheduled for that day. The Care & Support Committee requests that everyone stays masked for the duration of the event, and we will set aside space outdoors for people to eat snacks outside as needed. We also plan to work with the Clean Air Club to ensure adequate air circulation and filtration are available. For more information, click here. Message @leahg.96 on Signal for more info.
Submit ideas for monthly educationals!
JVP EdCom is hoping to begin offering monthly educationals to our members! Our goal is to provide the chapter with more shared learning opportunities as well as disseminate and dive into key organizing concepts that are vital to our movement. Please fill out the following survey if you have any topics that you wish to see: https://cryptpad.fr/form/#/2/form/edit/9V7b8w6kMb6pSlyhes8z1nE3/
